My original description of why I started this silly thing.

My 20th high school reunion approaches.
Because I've had a little bit of trepidation lately about this perceived milestone and general anxiety about aging, it was suggested that I start writing. You know, keep a diary of the year leading up to the big event.

Anyway, Katherine told me, "you obviously have some issues surrounding this. You should write them out."
The reunion has come and gone and I am older and not much wiser. Well maybe a little, teeny bit wiser.

Here is the recap

What am I trying to accomplish here?

hmmmmmm. good question. I might have to answer that question with a question. What are any of us trying to accomplish here? connect? converse? ponder? pontificate? publish? make a mark? (maker's mark????)

I've been interested in the idea of the individual publisher since I fell into the internet abyss, back in good ol' 95. What's so interesting about personal homepages? How can
the smallest detail of a life be inconsequential yet huge and global?

A writing instructor once put it to me like this: "If you try to generalize and make some sweeping statement about the human experience, you will end up sounding trite and cliched. No one will care about what you have to say because you touch no one. But, the more specific you are about the details. . .The details are concrete. The details are human. The more specific you are, the broader your reach."

so yeah, anyway. I like to write. I like the internet. I guess I'm somewhat of a virtual exhibitionist.
